The second round of the Basic Health Package Program was announced

Addis Ababa, November 2, 2012 (FBC) The Ministry of Health announced the second round of Basic Health Packages today.

Dr. Amir Aman, Minister of Health, said today that the basic health package, known today, has a significant role in promoting access to health in the country and improving the health of citizens.

It also provides citizens with access to quality and fair services at low cost.

The package, along with the Health Extension Program study and various program reviews, is said to be the input for the second phase of the Health Transformation Plan, which will be developed over the next 6 months.

The new Basic Health Package Program will last until the year 2030, and the health package, which was previously implemented in the country, began in 2005.

The former health package is said to have contributed to improving the health of citizens in various health sectors.
