The construction of the Korcha Dam Dam, part of the Renaissance Dam, is complete

Addis Ababa, November 2, 2012 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Electric Power has announced that the saddle-shaped dam, part of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, has been fully completed.

According to Belarus Kassa, deputy general manager of the Grand Renaissance Dam in Ethiopia, more than 14 million cubic meters have already been completed.

He said that the upper Armata Mills (Feasbill) work, which required 30 centimeters of fill from the saddle dam, was completed today.

He indicated that one of the great works of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is about to be completed.

He said the civil works focused on the sorghum dam and the main dam will have additional capacity to complete the main dam quickly.

According to data from the Ethiopian Electric Power, the saddle dam is 5.2 km long and 50 meters high.
