Minister of Transportation met with the mayor of Washington, DC

Addis Ababa, November 2, 2012 (FBC) The Minister of Transportation of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia met with Muriel Bouser, Mayor of Washington, DC.

In the discussion, Mayor Muriel Bouser noted that Washington, DC has a long history of transportation and that many Ethiopians are involved in the transportation sector.

Specifically, cyclists and electric vehicles, which reduce pollution, said that in the park policy, traffic congestion would be implemented in order to enforce the law.

On the other hand, they have agreed to work together on traffic management, car information management, payment systems management, driver licensing, efficiency assessment, urban rail transport and road safety.

Minister of Transport, Mr Dagamew, on his part said that this month there is a national movement to reduce traffic deaths, physical and property losses.

She said the experience in Washington, DC, especially in the United States would help change the sector.

He also said the knowledge and experience exchange will be helpful for the work, which will soon be implemented by the speed limit and the rules that require all passengers to wear a seat belt.

The information we received from the Ministry is that the delegation is grateful to the members of the delegation for coming together to work on this mission.
